The popular deputy was decisive in carrying out the government’s labor reform by mistakenly supporting it
The deputy of the Popular Party Alberto Casero has been wrong in another vote that took place this Thursday in the Congress of Deputies and has supported the opening of a new Kitchen Commission of investigation of the Popular Party.
Their support, however, has not been decisive for this proposal launched by ERC, the Plural group and EH Bildu to go ahead under the terms of a compromise amendment agreed with the Socialist Parliamentary Group. Without the support of the deputy for Cáceres, the initiative would have gone ahead as well.
Specifically, the investigation commission deals with “the alleged interference with the sovereignty of the Principality of Andorra by Spanish political leaders, as well as vigilante networks within the framework of the so-called Operation Catalonia.” The proposal of these political groups coincides with the appearance of the new audios that have been known with conversations between the former secretary general of the PP, María Dolores de Cospedal, and the former commissioner José Manuel Villarejo.
Alberto Casero was the popular deputy who made a mistake and voted in favor of the Government’s labor reform last February. His vote was decisive for the norm to go ahead.
The Popular Party and Alberto Casero himself filed appeals before the Constitutional Court against the “democratic outrage” that they considered was committed in the vote on the labor reform. The PP spokeswoman in Congress, Cuca Gamarra, argued that Casero’s “right was violated”, that she warned of the alleged computer failure that had occurred during his telematic vote and defended that he would have had room to vote in person. The PP wields article 23.1 of the Constitution, which they believe was violated, because the vote was prevented from being in accordance with the will of the deputy, which altered the majority will of the Chamber.
The lawyers of the Chamber determined that the sense of the vote of the popular deputy responded to a material error made by himself.
This week the Constitutional Court has announced that it will review these two resources (to which a third one from Vox was added) after admitting them for processing.
