A recent report indicates that charging smartphones in the bedroom can affect the secretion of melatonin and, consequently, cause obesity and/or diabetes. According to the information, British researchers have shown that a dark environment during sleep is conducive to the body’s production of melatonin. Such a reaction promotes the metabolism of the human being and also improves their sleep quality.
However, if you charge your smartphone on four, this habit can affect the secretion of melatonin in the body, which can then lead to some consequences such as obesity and diabetes.

The study indicates that, in the standby state, the value of the smartphone’s electromagnetic radiation is 2.3 miligauss. But it increases to 3.4 miligauss after connecting the equipment to the charger. Furthermore, the values of electromagnetic radiation from the phone at a distance of 5 cm, 10 cm and 15 cm are 1, 0.5 and 0.3 miligauss, respectively. That is, the further away there is from the equipment, the lower the value of electromagnetic radiation.
That is, the researchers’ suggestion is that the user turn off the smartphone when going to sleep. And if you don’t want to do that, then they suggest that you don’t take the equipment to the bedroom, let alone put it on the bed, next to the pillow.
But if it’s your intention to keep this habit, at least you will have the information and awareness that such an action will generate some electromagnetic radiation, even if you don’t pick up your smartphone. And the same can happen with other equipment besides the phone.
These new studies are in line with others carried out in 2014 by a team of researchers from the University of Granada, Spain, and the University of Manchester, England, where it was concluded that using a computer or smartphone at night can cause obesity.
