And now Larry Ten Voorde has a 20-point lead over Keagan Masters in the ranking drawn up in the post-second round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia. A complete weekend for the reigning Enrico Fulgenzi Racing champion and there are almost no words left to define him (one has been added, however: tireless!): double in qualifying and double in the race with both fast laps conquered.
Total? Well, apart from some certain regrets from some rivals, 56 heavy points that launch him into an “almost” escape which at Mugello in mid-July Masters and the other contenders will have to try to stem in the best possible way, at least as the South African of the Team managed Q8 Hi Perform at Misano.
Also because the Dutchman doesn’t even seem to have suffered from the trip to Germany between last night and this morning to take part in the concurrent 24 Hours of the Nurburgring. A commitment that ultimately saw him take to the track for much less time than expected.
The reason lies in the interruption of the classic endurance race due to fog, decided by the race direction last night around 11.30pm. This morning Ten Voorde showed up regularly at the start and after dominating race 2 of the Italian single-brand championship he expressed himself as follows: “Today we proved that we are a team, we took another step forward and I’m happy. The car was well balanced, I had an excellent pace and I was able to do my thing, I had an excellent feeling. There was a good fight with Masters starting and also with Klein. I’m happy but honestly also tired, now that everything is over I can go and rest, even if I managed to sleep a little and it was better than nothing”.
