To some it will seem like a gamble, to others a possible undertaking: over the weekend Larry Ten Voorde will simultaneously tackle the second round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia which has just opened with the drivers’ briefing in Imola and the 24 Hours of Nurburgring.
Let’s face it: not exactly two small commitments even if the knowledge of Porsches and the experience he boasts in the environment will help the Dutch ace of Fulgenzi Racing to manage everything in the best possible way.
It is certainly a good test of 9 for its limits, primarily physical-psychological, and the organization of private flights will decisively contribute to the success of the weekend, the only logistics possible in an extreme case with this.
At the moment Ten Voorde is regularly in Imola and is about to tackle the free practice of the Carrera Cup Italia and he himself explained the “movements” of the weekend via social media, which team principal Enrico Fulgenzi confirmed in full.
So free practice today, qualifying tomorrow morning and race 1 in the afternoon at the wheel of the 911 GT3 Cup of the Jesi team. Then I immediately fly towards Nurburgring to contribute to the entire night part of the legendary German 24 Hours, which he is starting with the Scherer Sport PHX team together with Dylan Pereira, Thomas Kiefer and Christer Jons, again at the wheel of a 911 GT3 Cup but in this case with ABS braking system.
Having completed his work, Ten Voorde will then take a flight very early on Sunday morning to regularly return to Imola for the start of race 2 of the Carrera Cup Italia. Certainly all the direct competition that the current leader faces on the Santerno circuit are interested spectators of this “ubiquity”, but whether they will be able to take advantage of it in some way will only be understood at the end of the weekend…
