Everything is ready in Imola for race 2 of the second round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia. Everything is ready, but, apart from the top 4, everything has also been revolutionized on the starting grid, where several positions change.
The “hiccup” tests between red flag and FCY made it more likely that two very different lineups would be drawn up between race 1 and race 2 and the eventuality actually came to fruition. Even if in all likelihood the poleman Ten Voorde, Masters Klein and Bertonelli will once again be fighting for victory and the podium.
Behind them, however, many changes, small and large. Among the main ones, Festante enters the top-5 (from P7 to P5 (reverse path for Zendeli) and Stiak (from P9 to P6), Cerqui (from P12 to P9 and Gregor (from P13 to P10) advance by three positions, by four Felbermayr (from P15 to P11) and five Olivieri (from P20 to P15).
The role of “prawn”, however, falls above all to Braschi (from P8 to P16), Pujatti (from P11 to P27) and Iaquinta, who won the Oscar of bad luck when he was left with the 911 GT3 Cup turned off in the pits halfway through qualifying without the possibility of fighting for the top: Prima Ghinzani’s Calabrian will start in P31 (P14 in race 1).
The only penalty, as in race 1, was the one given to Stefanelli, who will place himself at the back of the grid for having overtaken under the red flag regime during official practice.
And speaking of Michelin Cup, the grid for race 2 could further mix up a truly balanced ranking situation: Giorgi will be on pole, followed by De Giacomi, who must make up for the out at the last corner of race 1 and relaunch himself in the standings , Gnemmi, third different winner yesterday in the three races held so far this season, Pastorelli, who caught Fenici at the top of the standings, Brusa, on the first podium yesterday, Fenici himself and De Amicis, like De Giacomi called to redemption in the imminent departure of race 2…
