It is a new commitment in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia that awaits Alberto Cerqui in 2023. The driver from Brescia, Italian GT champion in 2017 and winner of the Italian one-make series in 2021, will face this new season to return to the top.
After the four podium finishes collected in last year’s championship, this season Cerqui will aim even higher, in pursuit of his second personal title with the 911 GT3 Cup, and he will do so after reaching an agreement with the Brianza-based BeDriver team, a young team born only in 2021 which already last year took third place with Diego Bertonelli among the riders and fifth among the teams demonstrating excellent potential.
“My enthusiasm is skyrocketing – declared Cerqui –, I’m really happy to be back in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia. The BeDriver project is extraordinary and I am happy to have closed this important deal. We have already scheduled a series of tests that will allow me to become familiar with the car and above all with my new engineer and all the team staff.”
The role that awaits him within the team will not be limited to that of driver: “This year I will also be the coach of some gentleman drivers and I will soon have two days with them in Vallelunga in which I count on being able to complete a few laps already. BeDriver is a new team, but already with the third place achieved the last year they proved to be very competitive. Even with less experience than the more long-lived teams, they built a box of absolute quality, they leave nothing to chance and this is confirmation of their determination. We don’t want to underestimate the season and the test series already planned will be fundamental: I can’t wait to get started”.
