The future of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia is enclosed in the three digits of the code of the new 911 GT3 Cup model: 992. The car, with implemented aerodynamics and technologies and 25 more horsepower, will be the reference “type” starting from next season and in this sense the last 2021 race which is about to start in Monza marks the end of the 991 era.
The current model, which has achieved so many records even in these “Italian” years, will not actually retire, because it will return to action in the Silver Cup. In any case, the future is already here, because now we know with certainty when the 992 will make its debut in the Porsche Italia series, given that what is now the definitive structure of the 2022 calendar was released over the weekend in Brianza.
The six double appointments with official tests have been confirmed in Monza in April (precise date yet to be defined), while the first round is set for 7-8 May in Imola, followed by Misano in June and Mugello in July before the summer break.
It then starts again from Vallelunga in mid-September and then plays a final rush unpublished in terms of timing that will see the penultimate round at the Porsche Experience Center Franciacorta follow one another in two consecutive weekends in the context of the Porsche Festival on 1-2 October and the decisive stage in Monza. (for the fourth consecutive final year of the season) on 8 and 9.
Before Imola (the previous Wednesday), Misano and Vallelunga (Thursday) the pre-race tests with an exclusive track are already scheduled.
