Silvano (Carlos Carlín) wants to celebrate his wife Tere's (Alejandra Guerra) birthday as a couple and peacefully, but his planned weekend is ruined with the presence of the number one enemy of harmony and tranquility: his family. This is the synopsis of The Tribe, the theatrical production that is having a season with a full house and that lowers the curtain with the audience standing.
“There are people who ask me if (the work) is Argentine. They tell me 'she's very good, she's probably Argentine'. I answer them no. That it was written by Ítalo Cordano, a 35-year-old Peruvian, a boss and who has many stories yet to tell,” says the actor who remembers that he did not think about accepting to be in La tribu “because I wanted to isolate myself in a beach house south of Lima. and rest, but how to say no when they tell you that they have written the character with you in mind. That's a gift.
— In the production directed by Bruno Ascenzo, the actor generates emotions in the role of Silvano, the patriarch of a family that meets in a house far from the city for a meeting that is supposed to be a celebration, but that ends up being an evening in the form of a carousel of emotions, with secrets revealed and wounds that have not healed. “First, I tried to put myself in the situation or in the heads of so many people with their heads suddenly polarized, conservative, closed,” says the actor, alluding to the issues raised by the story.

—What effects do you feel the laying is causing?
— The story touches very interesting nerves. In all families there are problems, arguments. I think it is motivating to talk, and that is part of the work of theater that makes you see a show with live emotions. I think we are achieving the objective that theater ultimately has, which is to generate conversations and questions. Within the absurd or crazy humor of some of the situations, it moves you, hooks you from different sides.
— The audience undoubtedly laughs a lot, but it does not stop leaving them shaken.
— Yes, and it is the strength and power that laughter and comedy have that many, less and less, happily, subcategorize it. But throughout my career since 'Pataclaun', humor has always been a channel for the punch, the message and the criticism to be much more powerful. I think that this work reflects, at least, a part of the Lima identity, although it does not attract much attention to the fact that they believe it is foreign. When you give the public a good story, they value it. I think that's happening. That's what the entire cast feels, which, by the way, is extraordinary.

Carlín points out that physically for Silvano he has evoked a lot of his father, whom he lost when he was 13 years old. “It's funny because when I made 'The crazy cage I also turned to my mother, to her shapes and postures. This time I went back and thought of my father, and maybe that's why I shudder in the occasional scene. Normally I am associated with more humorous characters, but being able to give me a character where I can do drama and comedy is a total gift for me.”
