Carapaz, the best climber in this year’s Tour de France, said on Monday that he must travel to Ecuador to accompany his daughter who underwent emergency surgery.
“In the last few hours, I have been forced to travel to Ecuador urgently to accompany my daughter, who had to undergo emergency surgery,” Carapaz said in a statement. “Fortunately, the surgery went well.
