Dear Director,
about thearticle in question I point out that the provision to which it refers, signed by the provincial commander of Pavia, it derives from directives that are valid throughout the national territory.
I also inform you that for the representation services including other armed forces they use to employ personnel with certain physical characteristics with particular attention to uniform care.
Sincerely
Luca Marco Comellini
PSC CARABINIERI: “DISCRIMINATING DIRECTIVE”
“Tall, beardless and without glasses”. This would be the prototype of the “policeman type ”according to the thought of a provincial commander of Northern Italy who in a directive sent to the dependent commands dictates the guidelines for employing the carabinieri in specific services. According to the complaint PSC Assieme, the trade union association of the Carabinieri recently established, it is an “absolutely discriminatory” directive.
“Being born short and short-sighted, although winners of a competition, is a fault that prevents the carabinieri of this province from being able to carry out specific services”, reads. But that’s not all: if the carabinieri are tall, without beard and with good eyesight, “according to the intervention of this provincial commander, before starting the service they must be inspected – as the directive reads – by the station commanders”.
“As an association – still reads in the union’s note – we believe they have more important tasks to face, such as guaranteeing the safety of our communities ”. PSC Assieme does not intend to comment further on the directive “hoping for an immediate intervention at central level that can shed light on this directive with discriminating contents !!”, he concludes.
