The municipal president of Benito Juárez, Mara Lezama, accompanied the working tour led by the secretary of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development (Sedatu), Roman Guillermo Meyer Falcón, to verify the progress of the works carried out by said federal agency in Cancun and the recognition of the space in the baseball stadium “Beto Ávila” for the generation of a sports complex.
It was announced that the intervention to be carried out in this last point will be aimed at the integration of existing modules with the public space and the creation of new sites that are versatile for the generation of other sports, like volleyball and soccer, just like urba sportsnots like skateboarding, skating, walking and jogging.
“It is important to work hand in hand with the sectors and the federal government to build the Cancun of the next 50 years”, Highlighted Mara Lezama in the framework of the tour.
He reiterated that these projects reflect the management work of the municipal government done before the government of Mexico to consolidate a broad social benefit for families.
“We are going for greater growth with real and innovative solutions that generate prosperity and shared well-being,” he said.
The authorities also visited the “City Theatre”, located in Supermanzana 20, an emblematic place in Cancun that will have adaptations to provide a place of recreation for thousands of families.
The secretary explained that they carry three or four months in advance, with about 25 percent, and they hope to conclude all works At the end of the year.
Mara Lezama highlighted that within this package of actions the Unity Market, Community Development Center (CDC) Y Unity Park, in the vicinity of Supermanzana 101; while in Superblock 259 it is planned to build a market, sports park, box gym and public park for strengthen healthy recreation and leisure among families.
Added to this is the renovation of the park and sports module “Los Gemelos” in Supermanzana 227, which will benefit thousands of children, adolescents, youth and adults of all ages so that they carry out sports activities that help them take care of their health.
It should be remembered that in the last Sixty-seventh Ordinary Session of the Cabildo modifications were approved to the Annual Investment Program for Fiscal Year 2021 for the municipal government to carry out the construction of pavements, signage, garrisons, sidewalks, drainage and absorption wells in different areas of Cancun adjacent to the Sedatu projects.
