Prime Minister Trudeau: Canada will allocate $3.6 billion to Ukraine as part of a G7 loan
Canada will provide Ukraine with five billion Canadian dollars (3.6 billion US dollars) as part of a general loan from the Group of Seven (G7) countries. This was stated by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, reports TASS.
“As the G7 finalizes the Emergency Revenue Acceleration Credits program, Canada stands ready to do its part with C$5 billion in funding,” Trudeau said.
According to the prime minister, Canada will also soon send four armored medical evacuation vehicles out of the 50 promised to Ukraine.
Earlier, the White House assessed the participation of the G7 countries in providing a loan to Ukraine in the amount of $50 billion using profits from frozen Russian assets.
A representative of the US presidential administration added that Kyiv may consider the issued loan as a grant that does not need to be repaid.
