The footballer of Gimnasia La Plata, Camila Uzqueda was transferred to Lucchese, from Serie C in Italy, and thus became the first player for which an Argentine club received silver from a European one for the pass.
In Argentina, soccer players who go abroad tend to terminate their contracts and then sign their bond to play for another club, as a free player. For this reason, it is not common for a player’s pass to be bought or an agreement interrupted in the middle of a tournament. However, on this occasion, Lucchese paid the termination clause that Uzqueda had in Gymnastics. The player signed a contract with the Italian team for one year with an option for another. This will be your first experience abroad.
Although it did not transcend the amount paid by the Italian team or what percentage of that money the athlete received, the player made history in local women’s soccer. And it is hoped that this fact will serve as a stimulus and set a precedent for the clubs to finance the discipline more and for more players to sign contracts.
In Argentine soccer, Camila played as a winger, midfielder and forward. She began her career in Estudiantes de La Plata, where she was champion of the 2018 Silver Cup. Later, she became part of the UAI Urquiza team, and was champion in 2019. In mid-2020 she went to Gymnastics. In the middle, as she was studying for a pharmacist at the University of La Plata, she played with the university team in the 2017 Taipei University Games.
