The PP leader assures that if he arrives in Moncloa he will regulate the use of the Falcon and the PSOE accuses him of “demagoguery”
The Government of Pedro Sánchez does not lower the pressure on the PP so that it gives its arm to twist and agrees to renew the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ). After the leak of the agreement between the PSOE and the previous leadership of Pablo Casado to reform the attributions of the body of acting judges – to which Genoa does not give any validity – the ministers of the socialist wing have come out in a storm to demand that Alberto Núñez Feijóo comply with the Constitution and unblock the negotiation as soon as possible. This Saturday it was the turn of the first vice president and minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Nadia Calviño, who asked the leader of the popular ones to “come out of the ‘no’ corner, start leaning in and unlock” the CGPJ.
Calviño avoided talking about the clash between the previous leadership of the PP and the current one on account of the pact signed last fall with Ferraz and charged against the attitude of the main opposition party, which he said “has no scruples” because it does not comply with the commitments and “lies” for four years. “It is urgent to renew the CGPJ,” he asserted at an act in Rota (Cádiz).
The number two of the Executive also accused Feijóo of wanting to contribute to the “twitching” with his proposal to recover the crime of illegal referendum at a time when the waters are calmer in Catalonia thanks, in part, to the ” dialogue and reunion agenda” promoted from Moncloa that has “substantially” improved coexistence among Catalans. “That is the line that must be followed,” said Calviño.
The leader of the PP, in an interview this Saturday with Europa Press, defended re-categorizing the crime of illegal referendum in the Penal Code because in everything that is illegal “the more clarity and specificity there is, the better.” In any case, Feijóo assured that he does not believe that Catalan sovereignty will return to rebellion if the PP wins the general elections because he already knows the “forceful” doctrine of the Supreme Court.
Presidential plane crash
The former president of the Xunta also pointed out that he will not use the presidential plane for a single political act of the PP in case he arrives at Moncloa and will restrict its use to his cabinet. “My ministers,” he stressed, “will not have a gold card to use the Falcon.” In Genoa they call Sánchez’s attitudes “cynical” when trying to justify the use of this plane, scheduling, for example, first the visit to “a company near the meeting” of the PSOE and then “return to Madrid”.
The Socialists, through their Organization Secretary, Santos Cerdán, described Feijóo’s words as “demagoguery and cheap journalism” and insisted that the Falcon is a medium that has always been at the disposal of the current president. “The presidents, all their lives, have used the means at their disposal,” Cerdán settled.
