Lots of new information ahead of the launch of Call of Duty: Vanguard.
Activision shared new details of Call of Duty: Vanguard before the game launches.
All new information comes via PlayStation Blog, where the developer Sledgehammer offered details on the PS5 DualSense wireless controller support along with a look at four operators, with introductory trailers for each.
Two of the operators – Cameroonian-British paratrooper Sgt. Arthur Kingsley and Soviet sniper Lt. Polina Petrova, both playable in Vanguard’s single player and multiplayer modes, have been seen before, but Sledgehammer has also revealed two new multiplayer-only operators. , Daniel Take Yatsu And Padmavati Balan.
The more practical information comes in the second PlayStation blog post, which details how Call of Duty: Vanguard will use the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers of the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller.
Sledgehammer states that “our goal was to be able to reproduce the trigger resistance of real-world weapons, giving the player the opportunity to find the one that best suits their style of play. We would not have been able to do this without the force feedback applied by the adaptive triggers of the DualSense controller“.
“It is in the “click” phase that the adaptive triggers of the DualSense controller exert different levels of feedback to help create the feeling of resistance on the trigger. This feedback is applied differently depending on the weapons used, reproducing even more faithfully the sensation of pulling the trigger for each individual weapon“.
“For example, if you are running with a 1911 on your hip, you will feel moderate resistance when you reach the trigger click, but you will feel not the same pressure when holding an M1 Garand marksman rifle.“.
“The feedback applied by the DualSense controller not only affects the movement of the trigger, but also the control of the sight; this means that the speed of movement of the weapon and the resistance of the L2 trigger will vary according to the weapon you have equipped. For example, heavy weapons will be heavier, small arms will be lighter, and so on. In addition, the attacks you equip on the weapon also affect these dynamics, so they are a factor to be reckoned with when choosing your equipment. “
Call of Duty: Vanguard will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PC, PlayStation 4 and PS5 on November 5th.
