Maybe and you got an ad online or by chance you heard it on public transport while going to work or school. At first you thought it was another Banda MS song that you would never hear again, but suddenly you hear 141, then Gaz’s name, then “the Phantom nobody knows where he is” and you understand that he is talking about Call of Duty Modern Warfare II.
In 2019 we saw how it was a great idea to give a reboot to Modern Warfare because they not only introduced the iconic war heroes that made the franchise what we know today, they further modernized the narrative, making it exciting, dramatic and very entertaining to follow. It was a risky step that paid off.
Three years later, we see a graphic evolution, also how the narrative aspect of Captain Price’s team advances and an experience, against all odds, solid. The chosen scenario is controversial, of that there is no doubt, especially given how dedicated the subject of cartels is in Mexico.
Nevertheless, Banda MS’s song is enough to understand the context of what will await you if you play the Call of Duty Modern Warfare II campaign which is to be a military hero, the one who sees not only sees for the good of his closest beings, but also a greater one that is that of the people who want to live in peace.

Reactions and comments for the video of 141 de Banda MS
At the time of writing this article, 141 by Banda MS on the official Call of Duty channel has a not inconsiderable amount of 20.5 million views and 97,876 likes. Wherever you see it, something went well with this corrido, which ends forcefully with “every time the good ones are more”.
Now, as in any YouTube video, especially from a band, it is common to find various messages in the comments section, good, bad, regular and even spam. However, the common denominator is something positive that causes emotion and improves the mood of those who listen to it.
Even the audience who clearly say they are not a fan of the genre changed their minds because they liked the song. The theme is still trending and is only below Shakira’s Monotony with Ozuna. That means the Call of Duty franchise is huge, and at the same time Banda MS’s reach is as proven as it gets.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare II sought to project a part of Mexico
During an interview with the Los Angeles Times en Español, Walo de la Banda MS stated that song 141 sought to project a part of Mexico with the idea of putting it to music. In Banda MS they found a group that is part of the Mexican culture that can connect with the young public. “We feel very flattered because there are many artists who do it very well, but that they have set their sights on Banda MS is a source of pride,” added Walo.
Even, the member of Banda MS points out that the song, which they will perform in a presentation at the Hard Rock Hollywood on October 28 – the day the game comes out – “is a bullfight”. Then he talks about how it is emphasized that the good team is doing everything possible to stop the bad guys, who are the ones doing the damage.
The Mexican group took on the task of creating a theme that would narrate the good team and that, as Captain Price says, gets its hands dirty. They even give a very important space to the new Mexican character named Alejandro Vargas and who is also a key player in the history of this Activision game.
Even theme 141 was improvised by someone, Omar Robles – better known for the theme of Tus Ojos – was the one in charge of writing the theme. He couldn’t have been better because he’s a guy who, apart from the band, likes Call of Duty a lot and the result is certainly epic in every sense of the word because it shows a heroic group that is doing good.
Dignifying the military
Walo de Banda MS, during his interview with the LA Times in Spanish, says that this 141 corrido dignifies the military and does not defend the bad guys. This completely changes the way the song is viewed and noticed by people. It is seen in the comments of the video on the Call of Duty channel, it is noticeable in the number of reproductions and in the reactions on social networks. He did not stay in the “iron relative”.
The results delivered by 141 de Banda MS, at least in a more positive projection of Call of Duty, are there, because you don’t see anything other than that you’re playing with bullets and already, you’re managing a team that is doing good and fight for a just cause, even dealing with political ideals.
So far, from what we have already played, we can say that the song and Modern Warfare II in its campaign section, go perfectly hand in hand, and that is already appreciated by the player, no matter where he is playing from.
