Surprisingly, what appears to all intents and purposes to be the first has appeared online teaser of the next game in the series call of Dutywhich we already know will be followed by a grand presentation next month.
But let’s go step by step. As reported by InsiderGaming, the web portal was opened in these minutes thetruthlies.com. Inside it is possible to interact with a sort of monitor and press buttons linked to turning it on, to raise and lower the volume, to change the channel or pause/resume a recording. By combining various actions you can see some real shots on the screen, which have been collected in order in the post about X below.
The footage shows a group of people entering a closed federal area at night, then entering a forest and reaching the top of what appears to be a mountain. In reality it is the Mount Rushmorethe famous monument in the Black Hills of Sudakota that depicts the faces of Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.
Eventually we discover their goal, which is to vandalize the sculpture with giant bandages covering the presidents’ faces (image above). The first three form the phrase “The Truth Lies”, while the fourth depicts the symbol of a Cerberuswhich is practically identical to what can be glimpsed in the image published by Microsoft to advertise the mysterious event which will be broadcast immediately after the Xbox Games Showcase next month.
New at the Xbox Games Showcase
This is clearly a teaser for the new Call of Duty, although at least apparently it offers practically no noteworthy information about the game. The interesting thing is that the Cerberus symbol is linked to the rumors according to which the next game in the series will be Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, code name Cerberus, and we doubt this is a coincidence.
In short, we just have to wait 19:00 Italian on 9 Juneor when the Xbox Games Showcase 2024 will air, to find out what’s cooking at Activision Blizzard.
