Red Bull Ring extends contract
The Red Bull Ring in Austria it is the home race of KTM – and of sponsor Red Bull – and they have tried to make the track as suitable as possible to host the MotoGP by adding a chicane to make the climb towards the uphill braking section of the Remus hairpin less dangerous. The efforts made were rewarded with the renewal until 2030. The MotoGP calendar will therefore stop in Austria for a long time to come in what is now becoming another very classic two-wheeler.
The owner of the ultra-modern track in Styria, Mark Mateschitzcommented on the agreement with Dorna as follows: “Anyone who loves motorsports loves MotoGP. He embodies racing in its purest form. When the best riders in the world go head-to-head and there are multiple position changes in a single lap, no one can stay seated. Once you’ve experienced the enthusiasm of the fans here at the Red Bull Ring, you can’t do without it. I am pleased that we were able to secure this great event for spectators with a long-term commitment to Austria and Styria in particular.”
Satisfied too Carmelo EzpeletaDorna’s number one: “We are very happy to announce that the Austrian Grand Prix will be on the calendar until 2030. Not only is it one of the most beautiful racetracks in the world, but it also offers an incredible weekend for fans with fantastic facilities, great entertainment events and spectacular races . The Red Bull Ring has hosted some of our most iconic moments since it returned to the calendar. As the home track for KTM and part of Red Bull’s incredible commitment to motorsport, it is also an important venue for many of our stakeholders and for Austrian motorsport as a whole.
