Cagliari, 15-year-old hit and killed on a pedestrian crossing while going to school
Run over and killed on the stripes. A 15-year-old boy died in Cagliari after being hit while going to school. The accident occurred a few steps from the Brotzu hospital, in via Peretti.
According to an initial reconstruction, the boy, who was about to turn 16, was crossing the pedestrian crossing, perhaps to get to the bus stop that would take him to school. He was hit by a Fiat Punto driven by a 50-year-old from Selargius, who immediately called for help.
The young man, born in China and resident in Cagliari, first ended up with his body on the front of the car and then was thrown onto the asphalt. Municipal police officers and a 118 ambulance then arrived on the scene, but there was nothing that could be done for the boy. Local police officers are working to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident. The driver will be investigated for vehicular homicide.
