The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has notified the Egyptian club, Zamalek, of the refereeing team charged with managing the match between it and RS Berkane of Morocco, in the first leg of the final round of the Confederation Cup, scheduled to be held on May 12 in Morocco.
The media center of the Egyptian club Zamalek stated that the letter it received from CAF included that the arbitration team consists of Kenyan Peter Waweru Kamaku as referee, assisted by his compatriots Gilbert Kibokich Cheruiyot and Stephen Eleazar Oningo as assistants, and Burundian Pacific Ndabihawinimana as fourth referee.
He added: “Tunisian Haitham Guirat is present as a video referee, and he is assisted by South African Tom Abungile and Zambian Diana Chikoutisha.”
CAF chose Djibouti’s Mohamed Yassin Younis as general observer for the match, while Somali referees Ali Mohamed Ahmed are monitoring.
The return match between Zamalek and Morocco’s RS Berkane will be held at Cairo International Stadium on May 19.
