That is what the cabinet writes to the House of Representatives. This seems to mark the end of the Belhaj motion, which called on the cabinet to bring all Afghans with a Dutch link to the Netherlands and offer them asylum.
The cabinet has already determined that 800 people, including family members, are allowed to come to the Netherlands. This concerns 330 interpreters or other employees of a Dutch defense or police mission, 100 people who have worked for an international mission, 42 local NATO employees and 120 people who also fall under the Belhaj motion.
There are also another 800 people for whom the cabinet will make ‘a special provision’. These are employees of an aid project that was financed with Dutch money, people who worked for the armed forces or a police mission and journalists’ fixers.
