Juan Daniel Muñóz is a Colombian who finds himself going through a delicate situation in Dubai for disregarding a country rule without knowing it.
The photographer’s ordeal began when a family invited him to the Arab country to capture all the moments they lived with his lens. For this purpose, Muñóz packed different equipment, including a drone that would give a general view of the city.

With a letter of invitation from the family that contracted the service, the boy entered the territory without any problem, what he did not know was that what seemed like a dream come true, in two minutes it would turn into a nightmare.
While raising the drone to take some shots, Daniel was arrested. “The time I flew it was two minutes, it was not a long time and Five minutes later the police were already on the roof of the hotel looking for who had flown the drone”, Said the affected person for ‘Noticias RCN’.

What happened?
This violation of the law occurs after on January 23 of this year, United Arab Emirates to ban the recreational use of drones after Yemen’s Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for a drone attack on an oil facility and a major airport in the country.
It should be noted that its use had already been denied in airports and residential areas for a long time, so the owners had to request permission, in advance, from the aviation authorities to use the device.

What will happen now with Daniel?
As reported to the aforementioned media, the young man will now have to face a legal process consisting of two hearings so that he can appeal the accusation, so that he is not held for three months and then deported.
On March 10, the fate of the Colombian, who needs legal help in that country, will be defined. For this reason, his father, Javier Muñóz, has requested collaboration from the population to raise the necessary money.
“In this case they are charging us more than $30 million for doing this diligence, of which we have collected almost $10 million,” he told RCN.

For his part, Muñoz has said that the request he sent to the Colombian embassy in Dubai asking for help was answered 24 days later, so he had already attended hearings with local authorities.
“What we want most is to have our son at home, it’s hard, I don’t know what a person feels when their son is kidnapped, but I have told God that I feel that way.””, assured his mother, Carmen Bermúdez.
