President of the company “Miratorg” Viktor Linnik in an interview with RBC revealed a way to increase salaries in Russia. In his opinion, the import of migrants creates unfair competition, so quotas for attracting foreigners should be reduced.
The businessman noted that with the influx of labor from abroad, the cost of labor becomes cheaper, so Russians find themselves in a situation where they are forced to receive the same salary and compete with newcomers.
According to Linnik, with such a wage, Russian citizens will not be able to survive. Moreover, it reduces the demand for simple professions. “Of course, when wages are low, which of our children will go to work as a carpenter or bricklayer?” – he noted.
As a solution to the problem, the head of Miratorg proposed to reduce quotas for labor migrants by 3-4 times, and he also saw “common sense” in the idea of replacing foreign labor with Russian prisoners.
Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia from June 16 to December 31 suspends the temporary residence of migrants in the country. “The period of temporary or permanent residence of foreign citizens staying in the Russian Federation, the terms of their registration at the place of residence is suspended,” the ministry said in a statement.
