Fans have been clamoring for years for a remake of Canis Canem Edit (Bully in North America), and it seems that this dream has finally come true, albeit not in an “official” way. A presentation trailer of the revised work has recently appeared on the web. Published by TeaserPlay on YouTube, the video work by a group of fans shows Jimmy Hopkins at Bullworth Academy as we have never seen it before.
The players and developers of TeaserPlay they used Unreal Engine 5 to create the trailer. It relied on features like Lumen, Nanite, Ray Tracing and Metahuman to create the open world protagonist, Jimmy, and the face of Dr. Crabblesnitch. The aim was to make a video that could show the advances in the field of technology, sticking to a much loved game in the early 2000s, because it is a “great nostalgic game we need, in next generation graphics“.
Jimmy is shown on a skateboard in the streets overgrown with vegetation, or walking along sunny corridors, or listening to the screams of Dr. Crabblesnitch, all in glorious high definition (although with some facial animations the impressive work comes a little less). TeaserPlay has also released a side-by-side comparison video showing what their remake looks like compared to the 2006 original.
