VW importer D’Ieteren sends his cat to the Brussels Motor Show 2022. With the exception of Cupra, which will be present at the Brussels Motor Show.
In September, the Belgian VW importer dropped a bomb at the Brussels Motor Show 2022. With the announcement that they would send their cat, D’Ieteren rocked the Belgian car world to its foundations. For a while it seemed that Stellantis would also follow D’Ieteren’s example, so that the Motor Show would make little sense. After the 2021 edition was canceled due to the corona crisis, the 2022 edition also threatened to fall into the water. In the end, however, the Franco-Italian group behind brands such as Alfa Romeo, Citroën, Opel and Peugeot decided to participate anyway, ensuring the future of the Brussels Motor Show in the short term.
No D’Ieteren means no Audi, no Bentley and Bugatti, no Seat and Skoda, no Lamborghini and Porsche. And no Volkswagen, of course. But for Cupra they make an exception, because the Spanish VW sister of Seat will come to the Brussels Motor Show in 2022. Due to the corona crisis, the young Cupra has not yet had the opportunity to show itself at a major motor show, so that the subsidiary brand of Seat will eventually descend to the Heysel to place the hybrid versions of the Formentor and the fully electric Born. . The Spaniards don’t say it in so many words, but it could well be that the recent cancellation of the Geneva Salon has something to do with it…
Wondering if other D’Ieteren brands will retrace their steps…
