Britney Spears has had a miscarriage. She let us know today on Instagram. Last April, she announced that she was expecting her third child with fiancé Sam Asghari.
“We regret to announce that we lost our child prodigy early in the pregnancy,” Britney Spears said tonight. “It’s a terrible time for any parent,” she writes. Spears also says that she and her fiancé Sam Asghari should have waited a little longer before announcing the pregnancy. Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue to try to expand our beautiful family,” Spears continued. She is grateful for all the support, but also asks for privacy ‘in this difficult time’.
Spears announced last month that she was expecting her third child. She announced at the time that she would leave her house less than usual, to give the paparazzi photographers she has hated for years little chance to make money from her. “As they have unfortunately already done.” Both during her first two pregnancies and after the birth of her sons, the tabloid press chased Spears everywhere.
Depression
In recent years, Spears has mainly been in the news around the lawsuit over the receivership she has lived under since her mental breakdown. After her second son’s depressive symptoms began to manifest and Spears lashed out at gossip photographers who were always after her, her father Jamie was appointed as curator. She wasn’t allowed to go anywhere without his permission, couldn’t reach her estimated fortune of about 50 million euros and was forced to use an IUD so she wouldn’t get pregnant. She recorded several successful albums under tutelage and even went on a world tour.
A judge ended that situation after 13 years last year, much to the delight of Spears and her tens of millions of fans, who are fueling the #FreeBritney movement on social media.
