Bridgestone continues along the path traced from the point of view of sustainability and presents the Potenza Sport ^TOthe first mass-produced tire from the company to incorporate 55% recycled and renewable materials, as certified by ISCC PLUS, the global certification standard that aims to increase the traceability of alternative raw materials along the entire supply chain, from origin to the end customer.

New sustainable technology

This product has been developed with ENLITEN technology to enhance its sustainability features and make it ready for e-mobility, without compromising safety or performance. As a result, this ultra-high performance tyre offers drivers exceptional safety and control, being certified with EU label A class for wet grip. It also offers best-in-class energy efficiency and extended battery life, while boasting the same EU label for rolling resistance. Building on the principles set out in the Bridgestone E8 Commitment, 35% of the ISCC PLUS certified materials used to produce the tyre come from sources such as natural rubber and bio-attributed polymers, along with 20% recycled materials, which are also ISCC PLUS certified.¹These include recycled rubber from end-of-life tires, certified carbon black related to circular oils, silica from rice husks, lignin, zinc oxide and recovered carbon black related to end-of-life tires.

Bridgestone and the development for electric mobility

The Bridgestone Potenza Sport tyre ^TO is not a concept or a pilot project. It was carefully chosen by Audi as original equipment for the new e-tron GT. As a globally approved original equipment tire, Bridgestone Potenza Sport ^TO has passed Audi’s rigorous tests that ensure its ability to guarantee the high performance required by such a powerful and demanding vehicle, while offering exceptional safety and sustainability. Developed at Bridgestone’s R&D center near Rome, Bridgestone Potenza Sport ^TO will also be produced in the futuristic Roma Plant, which obtained the ISCC PLUS certification in 2022. The Rome plant is also ISO 50001 certified for efficient energy management. The entire tire production process is 100% electric, and the electricity is produced from renewable sources.
