British psychologist Aala El-Khani has helped families in extreme conditions, such as in refugee camps. He knows what is most important when parents want to protect their children from drugs and crime.
Time and attention.
They are what children crave the most, and they are the most important thing a parent can give their child.
That’s what a British psychologist says Aala El-Khani.
El-Khani, who visited Helsinki last week, works as a researcher at the University of Manchester and as a consultant for the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). He has become familiar with helping families living in extreme conditions, such as refugee camps, and has been developing UN family skills programs.
