Last Friday (26) the Central Bank announced the creation of OTC Brazil Scholarship, a system that will allow the issuance of tokens and debt bonds in blockchain in the national financial system.
The platform will allow listed companies to securely issue debt through R3’s Corda Enterprise, one of the largest blockchain technology platforms in the world.

According to Cointelegraph Brasil, Brasil OTC was conceived by Celso Jung “inside” the BC, as the idea came from the LIFT (Financial and Technological Innovations Laboratory) initiative, coordinated by Fenasbac (Federation of Central Bank Servers) with support from BC itself. Agents linked to BM&FBovespa were also part of the project’s adjustment process.
Now, the expectation is that the new blockchain technology will reduce the costs of issuing tokens and bonds, as it will allow less spending on investment banks and lawyers.
The Bolsa OTC Brasil platform is expected to start during the first half of 2022.
