(Reuters) – Brazil recorded this Saturday 868 new deaths as a result of Covid-19, which brings the total number of fatal victims of the disease in the country to 541,266, reported the Ministry of Health.
There were also 34,339 new cases of coronaviruses, with the total number of infections in the country advancing to 19,342,448, added the folder.
The ministry’s website, however, shows zero for new cases and new deaths in the State of São Paulo this Saturday, which indicates that there was no update of data from São Paulo. São Paulo is the state with the highest number of cases and deaths accumulated in the country.
Brazil is the second country with the highest number of deaths from the disease, behind only the United States, and the third in case count, below the USA and India.
The federal government still reports 17,983,275 people recovered from Covid-19 and 817,907 patients in follow-up.
