Brazil registered 388 new deaths by covid-19 in the last 24 hours, according to data released by the consortium of press vehicles. As a result, the total number of victims of the pandemic in the country reached 563,470.
The balance sheet pointed out that the moving average of deaths, which takes into account data from the last seven days, was 941, a drop of 15% compared to the number two weeks ago. For nine days the country has had an average of less than a thousand daily victims.
The daily data from Brazil are from the consortium of press vehicles formed by the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo, G1, The globe, Extra, Folha de São Paulo and UOL in partnership with 27 state departments of Health, in a balance released at 8 pm.
The country registered this Sunday 13,691 new confirmed cases of the disease, which made the total reach the mark of 20,162,837.
According to the Ministry of Health, Brazil has 18,907,243 people recovered from the disease and 695,278 under medical supervision.
The balance of deaths and cases is the result of the partnership between the six media that started working, since June 8th last year, in a collaborative way to gather the necessary information in the 26 states and the Federal District.
The unprecedented initiative is a response to the Jair Bolsonaro government’s decision to restrict access to data on the pandemic, but was maintained after government records continued to be released.
