Brazil reached 524,475 deaths and 18,766,280 confirmed cases by covid-19 this Sunday, 4. The moving average (calculated with data from the last seven days) is 1,562 deaths daily.
The data are from the consortium of press vehicles, formed by state, G1, O Globo, Extra, Folha and UOL, in partnership with the state and Federal District Health Departments, in a balance sheet released at 8 pm.
The moving average of deaths is declining for the second Sunday in a row, being the lowest for this day of the week since March 7, when the rate was 1,497 deaths per day. It is, however, double that calculated in early January (698) and in the last three months of 2020.
In 24 hours, 776 new victims of the coronavirus were registered and 25,794 positive tests for the disease – a number that usually drops on Sundays since the beginning of the pandemic, due to the damming of tests at the weekend. Most of the new deaths were registered in Minas Gerais (196), in São Paulo (156) and in Paraná (93).
This Sunday, the State of São Paulo reached 3,785,859 cases and 129,609 deaths from coronaviruses. In all, 18,309 patients are hospitalized with the disease, of which 9,125 are in the ICU and 9,184 in the ward. The occupancy rate of intensive care beds is 72.9%.
The country has at least 76,377,088 people who received the first dose of vaccines against the disease, while another 27,077,167 took both doses or received the Janssen immunizing agent (single dose). In 24 hours, at least 267,557 vaccines were applied, according to data from 23 federative units.
