After a goalless first half, São Paulo managed to open a 2-0 lead thanks to the goal of Argentine striker Rigoni, who scored in the 23rd minute and the 33rd minute.
However, Fortaleza did not give up and fought until the end. And the insistence began to pay off in the 38th minute, when goalkeeper Tiago Volpi failed and Yago Pikachu cut it. From then on, the team led by coach Juan Vojvoda went all the way to the attack, and got the final draw in injury time, when Henríquez crossed for Romarinho to head.
