Bravely Default 2 physical and digital sales data.
RPG Site reports that Square Enix announced via its website that Bravely Default 2 has exceeded one million units sold across all platforms. We already knew the game sold 950,000 units on Switch alone, but its recent Steam release pushed the title beyond one million copies placed.
To commemorate this milestone, Square Enix is organizing discounts in Japan and a contest open to Japanese residents in which they can win a gift card or art print by artist Naoki Ikushima. The illustration features the four main characters above a stylized number of one million and the word “Thank you!“.
JRPGs are experiencing something of a renaissance on Switch. Bravely Default 2 is thriving, but there are also a number of JRPG hits like Shin Megami Tensei 5, Octopath Traveler, and ports of beloved games like Tales of Vesperia.
Bravely Default 2 launched with mixed reviews, although its ingenious battle system has been recognized. The game proved hugely popular and saw a release on Steam last September.
Bravely Default 2 is now available for Nintendo Switch and PC.
