American movie star Brad Pitt opened in Finland the first exhibition of his sculptures. “It was exciting and wonderful,” said Saryan Suikkonen, curator of the Sarah Helden Art Museum in Tampere, the country’s third largest city.
For the first time, the 58-year-old “self-taught” actor showed nine works in a joint exhibition with famous British artist Thomas Housego and Australian rock star Nick Cave, who is also a novice in the world of sculpture, the museum said.
Among Brad Pitt’s works are a molded stucco panel “depicting a gunfight” as well as a group of silicone sculptures shaped like houses, each bearing traces of ammunition of different calibers.
House attended the opening of the exhibition.
“For me and Nick, it’s a new world and a first experience,” the actor told Finnish TV channel Yili.
“For me, it’s about self-reflection. It’s about where I’ve gone wrong in my relationships and where I’ve gone wrong,” he added.
