The Mexican, undisputed champion of the super middleweight (168 pounds – 76.2kg), failed in his attempt to snatch Bivol’s title belt from a higher category, middle heavyweight (175 pounds – 79.4kg).
“I do not feel ashamed because I look for those challenges that many do not do for fear of losing“, stressed ‘Canelo’ Álvarez at the press conference.

The Mexican Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez, considered the best boxer of the moment, warned after falling by unanimous decision against the Russian Dmitry Bivol that will seek a rematch against the European fighter.
“Of course I do want a rematch, this does not stay like this“, said Álvarez, who now holds a record of 57 wins, 39 by knockout, two draws and two losses.

Álvarez recognized the technique of Bivol, who remains undefeated with a record of 20 wins, 11 on the fast track.
“Bivol is a good fighter, he goes in and out, I felt his weight a lot, you can’t hit him that easily; it was a great fight“added the native of Guadalajara, a city in western Mexico.

The Russian said that he had not had time to communicate with his family in Russia and revealed that his wife does not watch his fights.
“My wife and mother don’t watch my fights. I don’t want them to. When they are done, then there is no problem. No woman in my family watches my fights,” she explained.
At 31, Bivol has successfully defended his belt nine times since 2017.
