Tijuana, Baja California.- Jackie the “Aztec Princess” Nava counts the hours to hang up her gloves, her friends who, for many years, gave her the opportunity to box to become one of the most important fighters that Mexico has had in the female category.
This Saturday, October 1, a 21-year career in boxing will come to an end and it will take place in the homeland of the Mexican boxer, in Tijuana, Baja California, against the fighter from Argentina, Gloria “La India” Yancaqueo, who will have the honor of being the last figure to fight in the ‘ring’ against the former world champion.
This Thursday, September 29, the press conference was held for the contest that will take place in the prestigious Municipal Auditorium of Tijuana. Jackie Nava said she is proud of everything she has experienced in these two decades and she hopes to close with a victory against her people.
“Happy because we are going to be in the ring. More than ready to be back in Tijuana, my home, happy and nostalgic at the same time, because it will be the last time I go up to the ring and I will do it against a rival that is not easy, ready to give a good fight with all the preparation that was had with my work team in the State of Mexico”, he declared.
“They have been ups and downs but the most important thing is that they have made us grow as an athlete and a person, without a doubt we are going to put up a very good fight this October 1, we want to leave everything above the ring, I am going to miss you all, but finally the sports part has a beginning and an end and we want to do it in a beautiful way without looking bad for the public, “added the” Princess Azteca “.
Jackie Nava aspires to finish her professional career with 40 victories, she arrives at this last confrontation with a record of 39-4-4 and 19Ko’s. She highlights having obtained the WBA bantamweight title in 2005, the same year that she won the world title in the women’s branch, becoming the first champion of the green and gold body.
