L’Alfa Romeo it will be the last team to officially present the 2022 car, the only one even to do so after the pre-testing scheduled in Barcelona from Wednesday 23 to Friday 25 February. The C42 will be unveiled on Sunday 27 February – the Alpine is also missing, but will be presented on Monday at 6:30 pm – but it will not arrive at Montmelò without miles.
In fact, this week the team from Hinwil held a shakedown on the circuit of Fioranoa track owned by Ferrari which in recent seasons has always hosted the baptism of Alfa Romeo which often took to the track in a ‘mask’ or sporting a camouflage livery aimed at hiding or at least making the technical solutions adopted at the headquarters less visible design.
Valtteri Bottas in this way he was able to collect the first data and feel the first sensations behind the wheel of the C42 which in 2022 is called to redeem the disappointing ninth place in the Constructors’ classification obtained in 2021 by the team led by Frederic Vasseur at the wall. On Instagram the ex-Mercedes driver has published some shots relating to Fiorano’s shakedown accompanying them with the phrase: “This week has been pretty special.”
