Bosch has decided to follow closely the choice made by most of the companies operating in the automotive field to stop their operations in Russia. But it decided to do so for a very specific reason: the alarm raised by the German multinational is that most of its components exported to Russia would have been used for non-civil purposes, thus in violation of its policies. For this reason, the company has stopped delivering truck components to Russian customers, pending an investigation to clarify how these are distributed.
According to reports from Autonews, Bosch would be examining the use of its products after the Ukrainian foreign minister, Dmytro Kuleba, said a few days ago that the German multinational had supplied components for Russian infantry vehicles that invaded the country. Words that sparked a prompt reaction from Bosch, which also announced the reduction of production at its factories in Russia due to the disruption of supply chains and deliveries. However, this is a temporary decision that could also be burdened: according to the latest rumors, the company does not exclude the hypothesis of completely suspend production in all its Russian plants, including its main plant in St. Petersburg. We will see in the coming days how the situation will evolve.
