The Transnistrian authorities decided to simplify the border crossing regime for residents of the two banks of the Dniester and foreigners. The relief will be in effect from April 30 to May 10. On April 21, the head of the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the unrecognized republic, Olga Laznevaya, spoke about this.
“The usual regime of crossing the border during this period applies to both citizens of Transnistria, Moldova, and other states,” she is quoted as saying TASS…
Laznevaya noted that during this period, permission from the operational headquarters and the result of the coronavirus test will not be required to cross the border, and the two-week home quarantine after crossing the border will also be canceled.
The borders of Transnistria were closed to foreigners in 2020. The residents of the right bank of the Dniester needed a good reason to visit the left bank. The restriction also affected the very inhabitants of Transnistria.
Also, in the unrecognized state, mass events are prohibited, and in public places you cannot appear without masks.
In February 2021, the Russian vaccine against coronavirus was registered in Moldova for use on the territory of the republic. The leader of the Party of Socialists in the country, ex-president Igor Dodon then said that he was ready to be one of the first to be vaccinated with the Russian drug “Sputnik V”.
