Leonardo Bonucci (Lapresse)
Bonucci retires. The announcement of the former Juventus and Italian national team defender
Leonardo Bonucci – after Fenerbahce’s statement in recent days – has made his farewell to football official. And to do so he chose a non-random time, publishing it on his Instagram profile at 7.19pm, like the shirt number that accompanied him in the greatest successes of his career. “As a child I dreamed of this story to tell, promising myself goals to embrace against the greats, rejoicing, having faith through difficulties with courage. Beyond the story today, it’s me.”
Leo Bonucci closes a great career with almost 700 appearances in total with the shirts of Juventus, Milan, Treviso, Bari, Inter, Pisa, Fenerbahce and Union Berlin. Without obviously forgetting the Italian national team with which he won the European Championship by scoring a huge goal in the final played at Wembley against England.

Bonucci leaves football, Juventus: “An important piece of our history”
“An important piece of our history has decided to leave the world of football: Leonardo Bonucci. It is news that touches us, deeply, because Leo meant so much to our history: 502 appearances in the black and white shirt, 8 Scudetti, 4 Italian Cups, 5 Italian Super Cups“. Juventus comments thus in a note on its official website on the announcement of Leonardo Bonucci’s farewell to football. “Pillar and one of the ‘B’s’ of the ‘BBC’, a defensive trio who wrote pages of legend, Bonucci shared 12 seasons with us – recalled the Juventus club – We said goodbye last September, but the thread that binds us cannot be broken. Not even now that Leo has decided to embark on a new page in his life, for which we wish him only the best.”
