Former president compared Bolsonarista act in Copacabana to a meeting of supremacists: “There were no blacks”
The team of the president and candidate for reelection, Jair Bolsonaro (PL), has already separated numerous images of minorities at the 7 de Setembro rallies to broadcast in radio and television advertisements. O Power 360 found out that they intend to fight back during election time talks about the former president and candidate for the Palácio do Planalto Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (EN).
The PT compared Bolsonaro’s actions on the holiday to a Ku Klux Klan meeting. THE organizationalso known by the acronym KKK or just Klan, was born in the 19th century in the United States, in the late 1860s. It defends white supremacism, white nationalism and is against immigrants.
Lula spoke at a rally in Nova Iguaçu, in Baixada Fluminense. He went to promote his own candidacy and try to boost the names he supports in Rio: the candidate for governor Marcelo Freixo (PSB) and the candidate for senator André Ceciliano (EN). Here’s what he said about the Bolsonarista act in Rio:
“It was a very funny thing, which in Bolsonaro’s act looked like a Ku Klux Klan meeting. The only thing missing was the hood.”, declared the PT. The group is known for wearing white robes and hoods.
“There were no blacks, there were no browns, there were no poor people, there were no workers. The main artist was the old man from Havana [o empresário Luciano Hang]who looked as if he were Louro José actively participating in Bolsonaro’s campaign”declared the PT candidate.
Bolsonaro mobilized the symbols of the bicentennial of Brazil’s Independence for his re-election campaign. He spoke in Brasília and Rio de Janeiro after military displays. The campaign team recorded everything. The main objective of the PL was to demonstrate the president’s strength through images of the crowds.
Here are some videos that the Bolsonaro campaign should use to counter what Lula said:
Watch (1min47s):
JANJA & MICHELLE
In addition to allied politicians, Rosângela da Silva, known as Janja, Lula’s wife, were also on the platform in Nova Iguaçu; Antonia Pellegrino, wife of Freixo; and Ludimila Ceciliano, wife of the candidate for senator.
Janja also spoke about the Bolsonarista demonstrations, although without mentioning them explicitly. She questioned if there were any princesses in the place. “There are only fighting women here!”she declared.
The day before, Bolsonaro said that single men should look for “a woman, a princess” to get married. I also said that it is possible to compare the “first ladies”. That is, Janja and his wife, Michelle Bolsonaro.
The square where the rally was held was fenced off. Access was controlled, there was a search of the gifts. Purses passed through X-ray machines. Lula wore a bulletproof vest.
The national anthem was played in samba rhythm before the speeches. It ended with “Lula is from Brazil” instead of “beloved homeland, Brazil”.
Dilma Rousseff also spoke, and responded to Michelle Bolsonaro’s speech. The First Lady stated, in a service on August 7, that the Planalto Palace had already been “consecrated to demons”referring to PT governments.
“Unfortunately people from the Republic said that the Palácio da Alvorada and the Palácio do Planalto were full of demons. I was indignant because, in my time and in the time of President Lula, there were never demons in the palaces of the Republic. Now it has”declared Dilma.
