President Jair Bolsonaro (non-party) questioned, during a weekly live on social media, whether the indictments, proposed by Covid’s CPI in the Senate, against him, allies and members of his government could walk away in exchange for nominations for positions in the Executive. According to the president, the country’s problems are due to the political interests of certain groups. Bolsonaro, however, ruled out the possibility and said he would not incur an act of this nature.
“Me leaving here solves the problem? Are you sure that solves the problem me leaving here? Solves the problem of corruption. No (we would) any more problems out there. Problems happen when a person or another group still wants to ‘grab power’”, he said during a live broadcast on Thursday, 2). According to the president, Congress does nothing: “the money belongs to the Executive”.
“Do you think that if I offered a ministry to each one of that G-7 summit, everything would not be resolved? But I won’t do that. I’m not going to negotiate anything here in the government”, he added.
Contrary to the speech that there was no corruption in his government, Bolsonaro stated that there were robberies, despite his administration, and suggested that the situation would be worse if his political opponent in the second round of the last elections, the PT, had won the Presidency of the Republic . According to Bolsonaro, it would not be former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva – the main competitor for the next dispute – who would solve the country’s problems.
“Many complain about the situation in Brazil. It really isn’t easy to live in Brazil due to inflation, but we don’t have shortages and we can take care of our own life. Don’t think that putting a guy like that back in power will solve your problems,” he said.
Bolsonaro also returned to agitate the theory of electoral fraud and highlighted, reinforcing the supposed divine will, that he will not leave power “with the pen or the big hand”. Continuing his campaign in favor of arming the population, a campaign banner and a measure contested by specialists, Bolsonaro compared guns and cars. “Weapon kills? Car also kills,” he said.
