(Reuters) – President Jair Bolsonaro said again on Sunday that he will present evidence to explain why he was not elected in the first round of the 2018 elections.
“I would like to speak certain details live to all televisions about why I didn’t win in the first round,” Bolsonaro said in an interview with Programa 4 x 4, broadcast on his social media.
“I’m not going to open it up to you now, but it’s an issue that’s been well studied, ready to be publicized, but we want to show the whole world what happened at that moment,” added the president.
At the end of July last year, after saying numerous times that he would present evidence of fraud in the 2018 elections, Bolsonaro did not bring evidence to support his complaints, showing only old videos posted on the internet with voters complaining about alleged problems when voting and a video by a youtuber about the alleged manipulation of the electronic voting machine, which has already been denied by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).
Despite repeatedly repeating that he was elected in 2018 in the first round, to date Bolsonaro has never presented evidence to support this claim.
