Jon Pérez Bolo, coach of Ponferradina, left happy with the point gained at La Rosaleda in a match in which the blue and white coach highlighted the good start of his team, but also recognized that Málaga pressed hard and the victory could have fallen to either of the two rivals.
Match. “It was a very disputed match. I think we played 35 very good minutes in the first half, with many arrivals and some clear chances. The last ten minutes, Málaga put a little more pressure on us and in the second half it was a two-way match, with no clear chances, and whoever had scored would surely have won the match”.
Tie. “It’s not easy to play on this pitch because of how crowded it is, in the end they put pressure on us and we held on very well and defended the corners well. We managed to keep a clean sheet, which is something we hadn’t achieved for a long time, and I’m happy with the point I got”.
Malaga. “We know that it is a very even category and the small details mark the matches. Málaga are not at their best but they had just won and we knew they were going to put pressure on us”.
Departure. “La Ponferradina had personality especially at the beginning of the game, we had talked about it and I think we did very well in the first half. In the second, our strength was already failing us, we lacked precision in our passes and we couldn’t reach the assists. As I said before, in the end either of them could have won”.
