The government will submit a proposal for a new building law to Parliament in the early autumn, but the reform of land use has not yet been made.

“Preparations are progressing in Parliament to the extent that there is the greatest consensus. The reform will continue in parts, ”said Kari.

According to the Minister, the main reason for pushing for the reform of land use legislation was the feedback received from the consultation.

“We need more discussion and consensus building with municipalities and other stakeholders. The whole government finally agreed on this. The reform now is a good start. ”

Presentation The new building law introduces, among other things, requirements for the low-carbon nature of buildings and their so-called life cycle properties.

It is also intended to streamline construction with some changes in permitting practices.

In public is already in the past the proposal that, for example, a yard with a yard of less than 30 square meters should in future be built without a separate permit. At the press conference, the officials emphasized that the building rights and regulations must be observed even after the implementation of the proposal, only the permit bureaucracy will be left out.
