Board of Directors The government is proposing a continuation of subsidies for the purchase and conversion of low-emission cars

The government submitted the proposal to Parliament on Thursday.

Government proposes that subsidies for the procurement of existing full-electric passenger cars and gas trucks be extended in 2022 and 2023. The government submitted a proposal to Parliament on Thursday. The draft law also proposes to continue conversion aid to support the conversion of a petrol or diesel car to gas or ethanol.

In addition, support could be provided for the purchase of an electric truck in 2022 and 2023 and for the purchase of an electric or gas van in 2022.

Minister of Transport and Communications Timo Harakka (sd) estimates that procurement and conversion subsidies will accelerate the ongoing transition to fossil-free transport.

“Newly acquired electric and gas cars will eventually end up in the second-hand car market, making them available to more people,” Harakka said in a statement.
