By the end of the year, BMW’s electric range will expand with the new one iX1, whose debut will come shortly after that of the thermal version of the X1, which will also be available in a plug-in hybrid variant. Confirming the upcoming reveal of the new iX1, the German carmaker has released one first teaser image that immortalizes the front of its new electric crossover, embellished with aggressive headlights with angular LED graphics, a large grille with connected kidneys and vertical bumper vents highlighted in blue.
At the annual press conference, BMW board chairman Oliver Zipse confirmed that the battery-powered SUV will come officially presented by the end of 2022. The same number one of the German brand has revealed that the model will inherit the latest connectivity technology developed by BMW itself, exactly as in the case of the flagship XM and the restylings of the 3 Series and X7 models. The passenger compartment, which will be spacious and compact at the same time, will feature a digital dashboard that will share the Curved Display and Operating System 8 with the 2 Series Active Tourer. As for the motorthe specifications related to the power have not yet been disclosed by BMW, but it is known for sure that the new iX1 will be equipped with the fifth generation eDrive technology: the maximum mileage should still reach 430 kilometers.
