100% electric, but also 100% safe. The new iX battery-powered SUV from BMW achieved five stars, i.e. the highest possible score, in the Euro NCAP safety rating: during the tests, the new technological flagship of the German brand shone not only for exceptional safety for passengers, but also for its advanced driver assistance systems, particularly in accident prevention. The maximum score was obtained by the model in all crash test categories, symbol of the highest possible safety standard for those who get on board.
Going specifically, in the evaluation of protection of adult passengers The tests have highlighted, among other features, the effectiveness of the new interactive airbag located between the driver’s seat and that of the front passenger, which provides additional protection against injury in the event of a side collision. Child safety in the rear seats of the German electric SUV also scored the highest possible score, in both frontal and side collisions. Passengers can therefore feel extensively protected while traveling aboard the new BMW iX: in addition to the precisely coordinated restraint systems, there are highly resistant support structures and deformation zones precisely designed to absorb impact while safeguarding the passenger compartment.
“The BMW iX sets new standards of sustainability and achieving the highest rating of five stars in the Euro NCAP it underlines the overall concept of sustainability of the vehicle – said Dominik Schuster, Head of Vehicle Safety BMW – The extremely stable body structure and extended range of restraint systems ensure an exceptional level of passenger protection. In addition, the BMW iX has achieved excellent results both in acceptance tests and in daily driving thanks to the innovative driver assistance systems that significantly reduce the risk of accidents in various situations “.
