A new M and a sculpture to celebrate the 50th anniversary. Spotlight on BMW and on its sports division at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2022 with the German brand that is preparing to be the protagonist at the event to be held in the estate of the Duke of Richmond from 23 to 26 June next. The expected motoring event was indeed chosen by BMW M precisely to debut a new model: it could be the new M2, already seen in some spy photos and waiting for the start of production in San Luis Potosí but it cannot be ruled out that it could also be the M3 Touring with its six-cylinder 3.0 biturbo with 510 HP and 650 Nm .
A final hypothesis is linked to a new model, such as for example an XM SUV who could expand the family with a car never seen before. To confirm the debut of a new M was Frank van MeelCEO of BMW M: “We feel honored to play a very special role at this year’s Festival of Speed. For our 50th anniversary, we couldn’t imagine a better place to celebrate our products with fans of the brand. I am looking forward to presenting a certain vehicle to the world public for the first time, a vehicle that we have been waiting for for a long time ”.
To pay homage half a century of brand history then the Central Feature will also take care of it, with a special sculpture dedicated to the brand. BMW’s Motorsport division was launched in May 1972 with only 35 employees, and has quickly established itself as one of the most successful sports departments in the world. BMW will be present in two main locations, on the track and inside the iconic Stable Yard. BMW was previously honored with the 2016 Central Feature, when the brand celebrated its centennial with a sensational car rally at the Festival of Speed.
